How to prepare for a treatment?
It is encouraged to eat something small two hours prior to a treatment. Also, when possible, please wear loose fitting comfortable clothing.
What to expect after a treatment?
Most patients feel calm and more at ease after treatments. Acupuncture continues to work up to 24 hours after your session and it is advisable to take it easy for the rest of the day if possible.
How safe is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is very safe. Acupuncture needles are sterile, single use needles. Very rarely small bruising can from where the needle was inserted.
Do the needles hurt?
No. Acupuncture needles are hair thin, filiform needles. Most do not feel the needle insertion. Some may feel an initial prick, but it goes away in a few seconds.
What type of results will I see?
The effects of acupuncture work differently from one individual to the next. A variety of factors including how long the condition being treated existed, severity of condition, constitution of patient and frequency of visits can all play a role in results. Some patients may notice results immediately, while others will notice a change after a few treatments.
How often should I schedule an appointment?
The number of treatments differ from patient to patient. The treatment plan will be discussed during the initial visit.
